Jay-Z to tour the UK

This news has just made my day, although i dont know if i'll be able to go yet

Jay-Z is planning to play five UK and Irish dates in September.

The shows will be his first dates in two years and it will be first time the Def Jam CEO will play dates in Glasgow, Birmingham and Dublin.

Jay-Z will play:

Manchester MEN (September 21)
Glasgow SECC (22)
Birmingham NIA (23)
London Wembley Arena (24)
Dublin The Point (26)

Tickets go on sale at 9am on June 23. For ticket availability go to NME.COM/Gigs.

As previously reported, although the rapper "retired" in November 2003 he recently announced his return to performing with a one-off New York show on June 25.

kidding....i would love to go see jay perform live. but i wouldnt do it. at least not anymore and not now. concerts are gonna be huge...he is way too big. i only really enjoy hip hop joints when they are in pretty small venues or 5000 or less people.. you're close to the stage and where you have to fight for your life to stay in the front and everybody is jumping around. i know from experience that you don't really have that anymore when someone like jay z comes and fills out stadiums and whatnot. i haven't enjoyed the 2 concerts i went to that were quite large. but jay is dope. i just dont want none of you to say that i said a jay z concert sucks. its just my opinion on it. how much are the tickets...probably a good chunk of money...let me know at what kind of venues he is gonna be playing at...

Yeah all these are pretty big venues, I know that the Birmingham venue can hold up to 13,000 people (know this because its part of something im studying it for my university dissertation), but the other venues i think are even bigger

Tickets for Brum gigg are £27.50, which is cheaper than i paid for Kanye a couple of months ago

Jay would be great to see live but in a large crowd its gonna suck to many wannabe thugs turning up.
