Another Successful Ree-peat Year for Baby Ree
North Hollywood, California – Repeats and three-peats aren’t only for the Lakers here in Los Angeles. If Damion “Damizza” Young played for the Lakers, his jersey number would be “1” and the title of this week’s Daily News article would read, “Baby Ree Entertainment Wins Their 2nd Straight, Top 5 Single Monday night, Beating G-Unit and Lil’ John and the Eastside Boys, Sweeping the 12-Month Radio Championship Series.”
Baby Ree Entertainment had another dominant year with two hit singles (What Would You Do? by Damizza and Lights Out by Westside Connection); the latter being the first single off of Westside Connection’s latest album Terrorist Threats. Damizza went back to playing a leading role in the success of Baby Ree with the lead vocal in What Would You Do?, featuring Mariah Carey and Nate Dogg.
The rest of the Baby Ree camp also came up big in the in the third and fourth quarter – just as they did a year ago. Shade Sheist and N.U.N.E. have had much success in their new website PutYourselfOut.net and with the release of their mixtape, GTA: Grand Theft Audio. Knoc’Turn’Al (LAC/Elektra) has begun his nation-wide tour, promoting his upcoming album, The Way I Am featuring Snoop Dogg (to be released in February 2004). He also just finished his video for his new single, The Way I Am.
Baby Ree wraps up 2003, by teaming up with Jim Brown’s charity, Amer-I-Can/Unity One. Baby Ree is coordinating Amer-I-Can’s benefit album, to be released Summer 2004. Jim Brown is a big fan of Baby Ree and states, “Damion has been the most significant person in the community to come forth and help us. He has brought elements to The Movement that no one has come close to. His concepts and ideas help save lives and educate many children. He is maximizing his resources to help the program.”
It has been a fruitful and successful year for Baby Ree Entertainment and their fans. “Damion is one of today’s premier producers. 2004 should be the year he explodes into super-stardom,” states Jerry Heller (Co-founder of Ruthless Records with Eazy E and former Manager of NWA). Damizza and Baby Ree would like to thank radio and all of their fans for the continued support of The Baby Ree/P3 Entertainment team.
