Thanks to TQ himself I knew he was gonna perform in Belgium. He e-mailed Elke that he was gonna perform and she told me, so I looked up where he was gonna be at. I found out he was gonna perform in the "5 Voor 12" in Gent. Elke ordered some tickets and the next day I was gonna pick the tickets up and meet Elke and her boyfriend later that evening.
The next day at 9:37am I went by train to the trainstation of Amsterdam Central. When I arrived there I had to run to get the train that would take me to Antwerp, Belgium. So I ran and ran and ran... and I made it to the train 5 minutes before the train left
At 12:29pm I arrived in Antwerp and at 12:42 I went on the train to Oostende where I had to get out at Gent-St. Pieters...
A half hour later I arrived in Gent and in Gent I bought my tickets in the clothing store Brooklyn. After I did that I went to the 5 Voor 12, the club where TQ was gonna perform later that night. The guy that was working there was kinda cranky after I explained to him that Elke e-mailed with TQ for a couple of years and I kindly asked if there was a possibility we could go backstage. He told me nobody goes backstage overthere except for the crew
Now I did that I bought 2 disposable cameras and a sound recorder so I could record the whole concert
Around 6 I went to the club in the hope I'd see TQ there, haha. I dropped my bag over there, took a coke and sat a little bit. Suddenly 7 black men came in and yes, one of them was TQ. I'm a very down-to-earth person, but I when I saw TQ I reacted like a 14-year-old girl, hahaha. Man, I didn't know this side of me ;D I went to take a picture with him and listened outside to the soundcheck. I heard them plaing the beat of Ride On and TQ did Angela Jones (at that moment I thought it was Don't Stop for some reason lol) and a little bit of Bye Bye Baby. Then TQ came outside to call with someone and I talked with his tour manager a little bit. This would help me get backstage later that evening!
Around 9 I met Elke (and her boyfriend) in front of the club. We waited over there and at 10 we went in. At 12:20 TQ finally came on stage (after a dance act and some wack singer opened the whole performance). He did Ride On, Angela Jones, California Love (with AtWill), Bye Bye Baby and finally Westside. So then at 12:40 he already went offstage... I was disappointed about that, but that's the way it went... His tour manager said that was because TQ was tired and he really wanted to sign autographs.
About 15 minutes after the performance you could go backstage to have him sign a paper with his picture on it. I think I was the only guy who went, but who cares I said I was Mauzip and he said he recognized my name from the net That was cool, haha.
After I had TQ signed an autograph I talked a little bit with AtWill. A little bit later after Elke and her boyfriend had left I started talking with AtWill again. This was close to the door where you could talk to TQ.
Then suddenly the tour manager pointed at me and said I could come inside. So I went in and talked to TQ for a while... I did sort of an interview:
Mauzip: The song Used To, who is it about?
TQ: Haha, you're asking this again huh? It's personal, people always ask me that. I just keep it to myself. The person who it is abuot knows about it.
Mauzip: Is it someone from Coming of Age?
TQ: Haha, not it's not.
(Then we talked about Our Life and Extasy Jones. TQ told me that Our Life was produced by Damizza (like I already knew btw) and Extasy Jones was produced by Nokio. We talked a little bit about those songs. I kinda forgot to record this though lol)
Mauzip: This song, the demo version of G.H.E.T.T.O.. Why didn't that get released? I mean the song is great, it's one of my favorites.
TQ: You know, we did it with a sample and we couldn't get the sample cleared. It was a Curtis & Mayfield and we couldn't get it cleared.
Mauzip: Yeah, I thought about that.
TQ: You got the demo version of it?
Mauzip: Yeah.
TQ: Man, you got sh!t I don't even have, hahaha. You got the old G-H-E-T-T-(together)Oh baby it's the only way I got it.
TQ: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mauzip: You know, I love that song.
TQ: You know, Kiyamma Griffin did that. Yeah, in New Jersey.
Mauzip: Oh he produced it?
TQ: Yeah.
Mauzip: Oh that's cool. I'm gonna have Qu put this on Thug Poetry.
TQ: Cool, I like Thug Poetry. Thug Poetry is a...
Mauzip: I can't believe I'm interviewing you here right now!
TQ: Hahaha. That's hot a$s website. Who does Thug Poetry?
Mauzip: Qu, he's from Ohio.
TQ: From Ohio?
Mauzip: Yeah. He asked me to come on a chat thingy the other day and anyway, we kinda came cool with each other.
TQ: : Alright.
Mauzip: Like half of the news that's on there comes from me.
TQ: That's cool.
Mauzip: So what songs are gonna be on Gemini?
TQ: A lot of new stuff. I got I Remember with my cousins of Jagged Edge. You heard that one before right?
Mauzip: Yeah, but it's clean.
TQ: Yeah, well you got the dirty one on my album.
Mauzip: I hate clean versions, seriously.
TQ: Hahaha. I redid a Prince song, Adore. One of my favorite Prince songs.
Mauzip: Mannie produced it right?
TQ: Mannie produced that, a lot of hot stuff on there. I got a joint, R. Kelly produced it, KeepItOnTheLow.
Mauzip: I personally don't feel that song, to be honest.
TQ: I don't feel it either, hahaha.
Mauzip: Was it like Cash Money wanted you to do that song?
TQ: Yeah.
Mauzip: I mean, it's not your style at all. I mean, after Daily it's probably my least favorite song of yours.
TQ: Right, right.
Mauzip: I mean, a lot of people love Daily...
TQ: I don't like that either, haha.
Mauzip: I like stuff like Westside or songs like Ice Cold, you know, I love that one.
TQ: You like Ice Cold?
Mauzip: Tell me whyyyy, whyyyyyyyyyy...
TQ: Hahaha, on point! He on point! Every song that I said I didn't like, he said he don't like. The ones I said I would have dropped he said he liked...
Mauzip: So we got kinda like the same taste of music?
TQ: Haha. I got his e-mail address.
Mauzip: Are you gonna e-mail?
TQ: Yeah.
Mauzip: That's cool.
TQ: Aight.
Mauzip: I appreciate it.
TQ: Fo sho man.
So then we chatted a little bit after with 2 girls and we went outside after that and after TQ took some more pictures. TQ + crew stepped in the car and I said goodbye and all that sh!t and Quinn (or Quinton; the tall guy, I don't remember his name lol) said put it on the website, haha. Well, here you go! The audio will follow later
So that was basically it I've written enough
