Now back to the subject.... There are a lot of things about the music industry that a "fan" wouldn't understand and Luke is a prime example of it. No disrespect Luke, but apparently you have no idea what's happening in the real world of music. And I don't blame you, how could you. You ain't in it. However, I resent this comment right here and I quote you, Luke: " know he's not gonna get out of his deal unless he sucks baby's di?k" That was uncalled for and shows your level of maturity. Same with this one and again i quote luke: "well fu?k him then, i want the truth". And you call yourself a true fan. You are very disrespectful.

I agree with Akkadian, it's really hard for any male R&B artist right now to really move product (in other words sell records) There are only a few out there who have been able to maintain a certain level of success for a longer period of time. Joe is one of them, so is Ginuwine. But their fanbase is women. It's true that men tend to go for more ghetto stuff. R Kelly gets respect from both men and women, I agree with Akkadian here too. Jaheim does get respect from men, too, cause he sings about the feelings of a thug and men can relate. Some of you may disagree and that's fine, but I'm talking facts right now.

Same thing with TQ. He keeps his lyrics gangsta, so everyone can relate. One of the reasons he signed with Cash Money is that he had the chance to be himself. They didn't ask him to water down his lyris like Epic did. He could be as raw as he wanted, he said that in many interviews.
Instead of complaining and whining, why don't you offer any suggestions on where TQ could possibly go at this point. You make it sound so easy, Luke. It's not. Point blank. You have no idea what's really happening. You are taking this whole thing wayyy to personally, like TQ wants to hurt your personally. You insult the man on the board that's dedicated to him. Like I said before why don't you contact Cash Money and cuss them out.

Oh and since you are still riding on that "I have been a a fan longer than anyone here" wave ... child, please.. I was already down with TQ when you were still in elementary school. You don't know who's here, you don't know who knows whom, you don't know how old some people are, this is the internet ... all you have here are screen names....
So please take it from someone who knows a lil bit about the music industry, it ain't always like it seems.. and in Alicia Keys' words: it is hardly simple, it's just simply hard...

PS.. I am not trying to attack you personally, Luke, you are nothing but a screen name to me. I just don't like the way you have talked about something you know nothing about and how you disrespected someone about whom we all care a great deal. at this point i dont think TQ should be trying to go platinum...whether he releases a cla$sic album or not he's most likely gonna only go gold. either way i dont agree that its hard for an R&B artist to make it. i could name tons that may not be on the charts but still sell enough to keep them in bentleys & benjamins for the rest of their lives.

This is pretty hilarious...Not the fact that everyone's getting pissed off over the album not dropping, but the fact that just about everytime I visit this board, the album has been pushed back again. Honestly, what difference is it going to make if they dropped it last summer, right now, or 2 years from now? His fans want it now, they don't want him to sing another hook for one song on a Big Tymers cd. If they drop it now, and then drop the other albums, that will be better for TQ because he'd probably tour with them and people might actually know him as a solo artist and not someone who sings hooks for Cash Money.

Let me enlighten you on something. Artists don't make a lot of money selling records. The only way for an artist to make money off their records is if they have publishing on it, meaning, if they write their own songs. Or if they have production credit, which means if they produce their own tracks. A lot of the bling bling and material things you see are BORROWED and LEASED. i can't begin to tell you how many artists I know were in debt after their first record deal. Every little thing that is spent on them is a LOAN from the record company. Their advances, their promotional expenses, every flight, every hotel room they use comes out of the artist's promotional budget. The record label demands all this money back, so if the record doesn't recoup, the artist owes the label. Most artists make their money touring. Yes every artist needs their fans, you are right about that. Take for instance Boyz II Men. Did you know they barely made a dime off their first album? And they sold millions. But they had a jacked up record deal and didn't see much of the money. It all depends. Usually they don't start seeing real money after the second or third album. Another example is 112. Listen to the track "everyday" on their latest CD "Hot and Wet" listen closely to the lyrics. It pretty much explains it all.
It's not always gold (or platinum) that shines.

If R&B is supposed to be lovey dovey then are you saying TQ is not R&B? He sure ain't lovey dovey.
Most of the R&B you hear today is mixed with hiphop. There is barely any TRUE R&B left.

And one last thing. How do you know TQ knows the truth. Often the artist is left in the cold. Shoot people at Universal don't know what's going on. Trust me I have inquired. If he says that he doesn't know, then why shouldn't we believe him. It takes a lot to admit that you don't know what's going on with your project.... don't you think?

Hmm bout this Tyrese RnB lovey dovey thang: Is TQ´s music lovey dovey RnB? Well R. Kelly did a lot if this lovey dovey songs and he´s a great singer and producer but on the other side he´s just doing the same thing. On his last album there are 10 songs using the sentence: "Show me where the after party is" or "After the show is the after party" "straight to the after party"... eh he´s just doing this party RnB were all girls bounce up and down and the boys go and pick a girl they can play later on such a party. Always the same... I mean yeah that´s all we want and I do like R. Kelly´s music. Another cool RnB group is Jagged Edge. I like their music and I think the music they´re making is more "Ghetto" like R. Kelly´s rite now. (Well OK I´m a guy who´s more in RnB then in Rap - but I can´t sing )

Okay, my 5 cents real quick.

I don't understand how you can call yourself a true fan if you write all this. Like Qu and Boogie said, TQ doesn't choose that his album gets delayed or whatever. The record company and the distribution company decide when/whether an album drops.

To be honest, I don't believe Gemini will drop anytime soon if it will drop AT ALL. Maybe you have seen the Cash Money website... this picture is from the main page:



There you see Juve, Lil Wayne, Big Tymers and Teena Marie. I don't wanna start any rumors or something, but I bet TQ is getting out of the deal with Cash Money. If Gemini would still be in the to be released albums schedule, a picture of TQ would have been on that main page, I guess. The album should have been out a long time ago. They should have dropped the album around the time when TQ was on all the shows with Baby, Mannie Fresh and Lil Wayne!
Keep It On The Low had the potential to become a hitsingle, but it didn't get the proper promotion. Cash Money doesn't do anything to promote TQ anymore. sh!t, there was NOONE from Cash Money with TQ when he was in Europe. He had to organize the tour himself.
Personally, I feel TQ is getting screwed over by Cash Money because of what I just said. They screw us, fans, over. Don't blame TQ for not getting his sh!t out; didn't he say that if it was up to him he would already have 3 albums out by now?
I haven't seen that new Big Tymers video, but if TQ is not in that video, that will definately make the point I believe stronger
But hey, when TQ comes on here he can and probably will make a response about this all. The thread C00P made the other day that TQ doesn't post here anymore and stuff... If my thoughts are right that COULD be the reason he doesn't post. Maybe he can't speak on his situation with CMR right now and he knows everybody on here wants to know what's up.
