I say go independant just because you run your own thang, don't have to really listen to or answer to anyone, but you know best what to do for you and your music. We will all support you whatever you decide. And we will always find a way to buy your music and help you make your $$$$. Get yours and look out for you, if you don't nobody else will.

The other route to go is the independent route like I did for "Listen". Good part about this is U get paid like 500% more per record so u don't have to sell so many. U also own ur masters and can re-release or liscense them for other projects at will. U run ur own sh!t and don't have to worry about the record company bullsh!t. Problem with this is, distribution, marketing and promotion, is limited by finances and geography. So ur fans get pissed off and cuss u out cuz they can't find ur record. So then u gotta cuss ur distributor out because ur losing thousands by having people who wanna buy but can't find! ARRRRRRRRRRGHHHHH! That is the fu©kin' worst man! Talk about frustrating! I was supposed to give Lightyear another album/DVD. Fat chance... I have to agree with Sin! Independent! But it's all up to you! It's your album, you're way of getting that money! Take your time and decide whats best for you! I'm still just buzzed from hearing from you! But as for promotion, word of mouth is really the most reliable and most listened to! And we got an international board here! Word spreads fast! Thats all i wanted to say! It's your decision! Make the one thats right for you! |

[Read all the following imagining an Australian accent  ]Real good to hear from you T, it was beginning to get a crazy here cause we hadn't heard from you in a long time. Bout what you were say, man, im just a fan, i don't know sh!t about business but if you looking to get out there, publicity-wise, can you get a deal for just one album with a major label? or won't they let that happen? Cause then you get the publicity and promotions and with the follow-up album go independant, taking the potentially larger fan-base...it'd be a sacrifice but maybe in the long run it'd be better for you....but like i said i don't know sh!t about the music industry business. You would know the most about it considering you been with both before. Either way, you can be garanteed that the fans you got now will buy the album and support you, so you can only get bigger. T, earlier this year we made a topic to ask you questions, and alot of us wrote stuff for you...maybe some of the others on this forum can you tell you what the thread was called cause i don't remember the name. But it would be good if you could give them a read and answer some of them. Anyone know where that tread is? I know Stunna made it... Anyway, good to hear from you man, much love from Australia bro. Im gonna be straight up about this.
The way i see it... if you go independant.. you make the money.. but money aint everything.. i think you deserve recognition for the sh!t you create. Usher etc have nothing on you.
If you honestly believe this is some of your best work on the new Album T... have faith with it and go with a big name record. Hopefully it sells like crazy and you make the money as well.
Whatever you choose to do.. ill end up buying the album off Amazon like all the other ones ( even They Never Saw Me Coming came out in australia.. had to order that one.
Imo your music is loved by those who have heard it.. but so many people havent heard itm thats the problem.
Tough call.. but your fans are always with you T. You wont lose us if you go independant.

I think either way would work, the major would help get the much needed recognition because many who liked westside think TQ has fell off and have no idea he's still goin strong, yet when u go independent the work will be exactly what u want us to hear not what they think will sell. |
